A day-visit to Silves and Monchique encompasses history, culture and breath-taking landscapes. At Silves, the first Arab capital of the Kingdom of the Algarve, you will have free time to visit Silves Castle(fee not included) and Silves Cathedral, both built with the red stone indigenous to this area. After that, we will wend our way through the Monchique mountains to Fóia, the highest point in the Algarve, with free time to take pictures and an opportunity to taste one of the liqueurs typical of the region.
